Legions of Death was written by Rupert Butler. It tells us at pp 232 et seq that Rudolf Höss, a one time commandant of Auschwitz was captured then tortured by Jews in the British military police. His confession, a version of which is at Auschwitz is therefore highly unreliable. It was used in the Nuremberg War Trials to Pervert the course of justice
