More than a quarter of
children in the UK are not reaching their potential at school because
of poor living conditions and unwell
parents, a study has found. Researchers from the University of
London's Institute of Education and the University of Sussex analyzed the
intellectual development of 18,000 children between the ages of nine
months and five years. They found that children were likely to have stunted intellectual
development if they were exposed to two or more disadvantages, such as
having a parent who suffered from depression, and living in an overcrowded
home.
Some 28% of the children they studied came from families that faced two
or more disadvantages. In most cases, these children had a considerably
reduced vocabulary or behaved worse than their peers. In their study, multiple risk factors in young children's development,
the academics highlight 10 situations that can impair a child's
development. These include living in an overcrowded home; having a teenage
mother; coming from a
family with poor basic skills or a history of drug or alcohol abuse..........
The researchers found that Bangladeshi children were most likely to be
exposed to multiple family problems. Almost half – 48% – came from
families that faced two or more disadvantages, compared to 20% of children

even attempting to read every message. Instead, there are two teams
searching it for key words: a detective sergeant with five detective
constables from Scotland Yard working secretly on criminal leads; and 32
civilians working for the Management and Standards Committee, providing
information for the civil actions brought by public figures and for the

the windscreen of the £60,000 car.
It was all captured on a video camera
mounted inside the police’s own patrol car as Mr Whatley was stopped
in a quiet country lane. The
video was obtained by his legal team and later posted on YouTube - and
has been seen by more than 30 million people worldwide. Gwent Police paid Mr Whatley
compensation for the ‘post-traumatic stress disorder’ he suffered at
the hands of the two PCs. Former property developer Mr
Whatley was arrested at the scene, charged with driving without a
seatbelt and failing to stop for police. He was found guilty and fined

prisoners. The third was with a 16 year-old and that case had been referred to
the Milwaukee district attorney’s office, which declined to prosecute. The
priors came as no surprise to the 19-year-old who was now accusing him of
raping her while he somehow remained employed as a cop.

25, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, kept the information on a computer
memory stick that contained details about the toxin ricin, assassination
and torture techniques and instructions for making improvised explosive
devices. The documents were entitled Improvised Munitions Handbook and
Unconventional Warfare Devices and Techniques.................. Kauser told police he had downloaded the information out of "curiosity
and a thirst for knowledge".
He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Manchester crown court to
four counts of collecting a record of information likely to be useful to a
person committing or preparing an act of terrorism between 2009 and 2011. The prosecution accepted the defendant had not disseminated the
information and had not put it to any practical use. There was also no
evidence to suggest Kausar had any links to terrorists [ apart from
being an enemy alien - Editor ]......
Also contained in the documents was a letter written by Kausar that
said: "I want to fight jihad for Allah."

deteriorated, there was less safe water to drink and well-meaning interventions

sham weddings. Canon John Magumba, 58, admitted helping
Nigerian men and women tie the knot with fake partners whose genuine EU
passports allowed the migrants to stay in the UK and claim cash and free
healthcare. Police suspect he never conducted actual services,
instead simply filling in the marriage certificates. Bolton Crown Court heard that Magumba, who pocketed
£8,345 from his scams, had said Nigerians “would do anything in their power to
come to the UK”.
Judge William Morris was told a single person entering
Britain has immediate access to the equivalent of £10,000 in welfare payouts
plus access to the NHS and the education system, the prosecution said. A
mother and child could obtain £23,000 a year. Jailing Magumba for two-and-a-half years, Judge Morris
said: “Your offences have brought scandal to the Church and let down your
family and parishioners.”........
He also admitted stealing £5,437 from St Peter’s Church
in Newbold, Rochdale and £2,908 from St Luke’s Church in Deeplish by not
passing on wedding fees and funeral charges to church funds. Non-EU citizens who marry EU citizens cannot be deported
so migrants who marry citizens of the EU have the right to live, work and
claim benefits in the UK.
